3D objects behavior

Hello!

I have created a 3D arrow, 2 meters in length, but even at 50-60 meters is very big. In fact, 2 arrows of the same size, separated from me 10 and 50 meters are virtually equal in screen size. Why? (The parameter "scale" has value 1)

Also, I adjust the altitude of the object to null (the altitude of the user), but when I'm near the arrow it is over my head. I tested 15 meters "under the user level"... and finally it seems to be "on the ground".

But by far the worst problem is that when I am near  a 3D object and I move, it "moves with me". It doesn't seems to be "anchored" to the ground.

When I'm thinking about the image of "The Beatles" crossing Abbey Road  in another Layar layer: Can I walk around that 3D object and, in "real time" see how it changes? Or it changes only every "x" seconds?

THANK YOU VERY MUCH!!! :)

Hello All,

Both issues related to  jumping 3d model and not being able to walk around it should have been fixed in Layar v6.0 on iPhone. I have tested it outside and it works fine to me. Please let us know if it works as expected on your end.

Thanks a lot!

Best Regards,

Xuan

I'm experiencing the same issue on Android (samsung galaxy apollo) with the 5.02 version. Both 2d and 3d objects 'follow' me and I can't walk around the objects.

Known issues in Layar v4.0.2 on the IPhone platform:

2. Not being able to walk around a 3d object.

my field of voices  works great in android.  I can walk amongst the pois and trigger the sounds from each one of them but iphone the whole thing requires refreshing to reflect new location as you move about.  I wonder if there's any news on an approximate release date for the new iphone client?  My show is on May 22nd it would be nice to know if its just for android or if apple people can experience it also.

Hello David,

In current IPhone client (4.0.1), it is a known issue that we could not walk around a 3d objects. This will be fixed in Layar v5.0 release.

However, this issue should be fixed in Layar v4.0.5 on the Android platform, do you still experience this using this client version?

Thanks a lot for your input.

Best Regards,

Xuan

I tested on my Iphone client, the client an the gps are of the Iphone. I think the GPS is the best at least it run perfect with other apps like google maps. In fact the bug is located in Iphone client category.

Anyway this particular bug is the same in Android Client.

Thank you very much.

Hello Guys,

Which layar client are you testing now ? Do you test your layers outside with accurate GPS ?

Thanks!

Hi, I have the same problem. Object seem to be way of the ground and move with me. Actually I am afraid this is a Layar problem that is deep inside the software. Maybe to overcome an inaccurate GPS signal?

AR with tags (like FLAR) is way more realistic. The downside are the tags, not needed in Layar. I would like Layar to behave like having a tag!

Like David above I seem to have problems with 3d images not anchoring.

I am trying to show a what use to exist at a particular location but the 3d model jumps around and moves position as I move.
