I have read in the layar google groups somes developpers asking for this feature and i am interested too. Is there any way to improve this accuracy and implement to the layar application?
Thanks,

Oh, I'm a pain in the neck, I know. I just saw a real neat implementation using QR code + Compass + Accelerometers for indoor positioning. The demo looks pretty tight http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HTZFRDBdQck&NR=1
I just stumbled on this video http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jRcSFXvoPkU that illustrates this idea using a platform called junaio
Hi,
Geolocation override using QR Codes.
I'm not sure this method is supported. It looks like a hack and the developer reports it will require resetting 25% of the time (very high): http://blog.neonascent.net/archives/improving-positioning-in-layar-...
Maybe its a question of improving the support so that the QR code can be read from inside layar. That is, when the layar camera view detects a specifically formatted QR code, it updates the user's location. This would be specially useful for indoor applications like Museums.
In my mind, this would be one of the tools available to the layer developers, that they would be able to activate. The QR code would basically contain information on the layer and the coordinates.
How does that sound? Make any sense?
Ok,
So, when indoors, I'll use Skyhook.
Thanks,
Joanan
Hi Maurice,
Thanks for your answer.
Hi Joanan and Miguel,
Currently we are using Skyhook to get a better position in- and outdoors. Here you can find how it works.
We're continuously looking for new solutions to improve positioning and we're looking into several options. Once we've found the right solution which can fulfill our and your needs we'll let our community know.

Maurice
Yes, I submitted the idea to use qubulus (qubulus.com). However, whatever works!
