why can't we add tags after publication?

Under Listing & indexing, it now does not allow addition of new tags after publication. This is extremely inconvenient for artists who constantly get new chances to exhibit, and want to add tags referring to the newest exhibit! Tags are one of the few ways that people can find which augments are being shown in which shows without seeing the publicity for the venue itself.

Please reinstate the ability to change and add tags after publication, it was a very valuable feature for us!

Please allow the change of titel too. One customer of mine operates an "event layar". The infrastructure is there, but one week it is used for event A, the next week for another event, etc. Not being able to change the title makes it impossible for them to do so.

What was the reason in the first place to apply these restrictions?

Hello All,

Thanks a lot for your input. Recently, I also noticed that we have implemented the following business rules:

  • The following meta-data is not allowed to change once the layer is approved:
    • General:
      • Publisher
      • Free or paid
    • Listing & indexing:
      • Title
      • Name
      • Category
      • Keywords
    • Authentication
      • Authentication required
But the possibility of changing keywords after a layer is approved will be back soon.

Sorry for the inconvenience.

Best Regards,
Xuan

Layar Partner Network

Since Layer AR is often used as an extension to public events or exhibitions, sometimes with multiple contributing developers and artists working on multiple layers, it has become a practice to add one tag to a range of layers, to let them be found collectively, instead of putting numerous layar names on a flyer or announcement.

Temporarily changing the tags was a very practical way to make this possible. In a system in which all layers need to go through submission/checks for each keyword change, this might give a lot of overhead, and it takes running layers offline for an undefined amount of days.

To prevent 'tag' hijacking and parasiting, perhaps the amount of keywords can be limited, so developers will need to be selective and careful in what relevant tags they pick?
