When the vision has found a pattern it could try to find also text (or numbers if it's easier) and recognize it sending it back together with all other data, this way many dynamic applications could be done.

Also using a fixed font for numbers (you distribute the font to use) could enable using a "vision" image and printing besides numbers to get in the getPOI the number back.
This could be usefull for museums and to give different descriptions basing on the number (since gps indoor will not help determining which picture you are looking at and we cannot use picture image using "vision" for a picture gallery).
Using a fixed known font could ease the character recognition for the client and be a good compromise for developers
